Graffiti, base of Rectory

I found the chalk graffiti seen in the photo on my way to the base of Coyote Calling (around the corner to the right of Fine Jade) in mid-March. Hard to visualize dimensions in photo, but this text took up an area of maybe 3'x3'. It was written directly on the rock of the tower above the protected bivy spot there, presumably by someone who stashed their "not nice" dog there and this was to serve as a warning to passers-by?

It should go without saying, but this sh!t is completely unnecessary. If the person(s) who did this happen to read this post (unlikely, I know) I'd like to inform them that they are simultaneously:
1) mildly considerate for at least taking steps to warn others about an aggressive dog hiding in a bivy cave,
2) mostly just assholes for hiking that aggressive dog up to a popular tower where others could apparently be attacked and for defacing the base of a popular tower route

As more of us crowd the desert, we have to be mindful of the impact we have there and show some respect for the amazing landscape and our fellow climbers.

Good point JT. But what if I saw a rattlesnake and wrote "rattlesnake --->" What if you walked up to the base of J Crack and someone wrote "watch out for the squirrels ---->" What if at the base of the N Chimney someone wrote "beware the afternoon storms". Writing BS messages on the rock, however fleeting your chalk might be, is not cool.

These tick marks sure are getting out of control...

Did you brush it?
