Can yall talk to me about gloves? For example, I live in Fairbanks, AK during the winter, so obviously I have extreme cold weather mittens (though its not like i need em anymore with the winters we have been having). For ice climbing, I use light wind stopper gloves (though they get wet pretty easily), and for general mountaineering/approaches, I use thin "waterproof" gloves with some warm liners. What do yall use? what do yall recommend? What can I do better? For one, I would like to have to rely on fewer gloves to accomplish the same tasks.

Some great replies here. I love my OR Alpine Alibi II, recently on sale somewhere.

I've been teying to figure out what the best gloves for summer alpine rock climbing would be.. Ie something like the Exum Ridge on the Grand.. Mid to upper 30s, light gloves that have decent grip for the easy 5th class pitches.. any suggestions?

Read the above linked MP thread article, people waaay more experienced than me. Some said golf gloves are the ticket. I found a couple pair that are great, as well as batting gloves.
