Mountain Project: Forum: Gate Butress Break In

Just a quick heads up. My Buddy's car had his window smashed this morning sometime between 9:15 and 12:00 at the gate parking lot this morning (Sunday 11/18). They weren't after gear, looks like they were more interested in non climbing valuables. Cops were notified, but I imagine they have other things to do than stake out the parking lot.

Just a warning that this is going on.

Seemed like they were there off and on the rest of the day.

Hmmm...wondered about that...

Canyon, especially the gate area, and green a area, was full of folks gettin' after it!

Pretty neat, and, kind of surprising. Must be the last hurrah for a while until this cold weather due in a couple of days passes.

I assume it happened closer to 9:00 than noon. When we pulled in we were the only ones there. By the time we were ready to rap the parking lot was packed. I doubt it happened later with so many cars and people bouldering so close to the lot.

It was a great day for climbing.
