Keeping climbing areas open and conserving the climbing environment
|
|
Description Start from a boulder in the stream. Climb up along the arete. At the top, go left to the anchors shared with Miss Pacman.
Location This climb is in the Grotto, the first climbing area encountered on the approach trail. This climb is on a small wall on the near (west) side of the canyon, the opposite side of most of the other climbs. Game Boy is the rightmost of two climbs on this wall.
Protection 5 bolts, open shut anchors.
Working the start of "Gameboy," in the Grotto.

| This route feels substantially harder to me than Miss Pacman, to its left. |
By Brian Hench From: Costa Mesa, CA May 17, 2010 rating: 5.10-
| The rating is a sandbag. It IS much harder than the route to the left. |

| Contrary to previous reviews, I didn't find this route harder than Ms Pacman to its left, but I might put them on par with each other. I led both, and the only hairy move on Gameboy for a short person like me was getting getting clipped into the first bolt. I had to leave the deck over a serious potential fall to get clipped in. |

| I have to agree with Matthew and Brian regarding the comparison in difficulty between Ms. Pacman (L) and Gameboy (R)). The opening moves on Gameboy seem significantly harder than anything on Ms. Pacman, height issues or not. |
