My wife Emily climbing Drilling in the dark.

Fucoidal Quartzite is some of the best rock in the canyon; hence, it is also very crowded. It is warm and not too far from the road.

Forty routes grace these walls; some being multipitch. The grades range from 5.5 to 5.12d.

Getting There

Park at the paved parking area at mile marker 472.5. Scramble up to the climbs.

It is mile marker 470.5.
WTF? Someone find a whole 200 extra miles somewhere?? Don't ask the ranger about it, apparently a touchy subject : )

I remember TRing that last year. It felt like a mid 10 - low 11? Seemed like there was a possibility of an arete up the bum after the first bolt.
