BETA PHOTO: Thump and Forest Thump

Add Photo  Add Comment    Printer View

Description

Sit start as For "Thump" and continue left, up crimps, to finish as for Primate. See beta photo for starting holds.

Location

On the Backyard boulder (same boulder as "The Impossible Problem"). This boulder can be spotted by walking up the road from the parking lot. After passing one large boulder on the right, you will see the backyard boulders. It often looks like it has snow on it (from being so polished). Walk around right and you will see Forest Thump.

Protection

A pad or two and a spotter.

I may be mistaken on the actual line of forest thump. Does it follow the line of crimps 3 feet below the line I indicated? If it does, I can fix the picture.

This one was a totally made up "i'm bored" problem. The original send starts sit - with your right leg/knee behind the tree and both hands on head height crimps. Pull up on the crimps and push with right leg. First move is a gaston with left hand to a good slope shelf.

Next make a difficult match onto this slope shelf - but don't go straight up to the buckets just above the slope gaston hold (told you this was a rules problem...)

After matching on the slope gaston hold (which requires this ab blasting high right foot) continue left on head high crimps until you can gain the arete that is part of primate. Following this arete down until you can statically (slowly...) lower your sorry ass onto the ground. If you "thump" to the ground, start over. Totally lame i know, but that was the original idea...
