| I am not a climber but I am selling items from a friend’s traditional rack (called a Little Cottonwood Canyon (Utah) rack by an associate who is helping me on this project). My friend is 59 and dying from the end stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Any money from the sale will go to his wife for his care. He worked for the Park Service in Yosemite in the mid to late 70’s on the backcountry rescue program. He retired from the Forest Service two years ago when his memory prevented him from working. He was meticulous about his gear and sewed his own webbing. All the items are in very good shape. Some look they have never been placed.
BELOW IS WHAT IS LEFT.
Black Diamond sit harness with adjustable leg loops, barely used, size medium: $25. Cassin helmet, size medium: SOLD
Flex Friend; size 1.5: SOLD Black Diamond Camelot, blue: SOLD Black Diamond Camelot, red: $30.
Black Diamond D beiners: 34, $3 each. (Some may be sold.)
11(?) mm rope: probably 60 meters. Looks unused but I don’t really know its history. $60. (Not Shown)

| Hi Mark - I'll buy the 3.5 if it's still available
I'm sorry to hear about your friend's illness
By mattso From grand canyon, AZ May 13, 2008
| Sorry to hear about your friend as well, If Kirra decides she doesn't want the 3.5 I will take it. It will complete my rack without having the new cams which are different sizes after 3. No Kirra I don't want it just because you do. | |
By John Langston May 13, 2008
| Sell Kirra the 3.5 and me the 4.5 and ship them together to save trouble and shipping costs. | |

| Hi Folks: I'm an old guy so forgive me if I do things strangely here. I appreciate everyone's thoughts about my friend. Thanks. His wife will be gratified.
I'm waiting on a call back for the 3.5 and 4.5 from Sam. If I don't here from him in a day or so then the 3.5 and 4.5 go to Kira and John.
I need to contact a woman here in SLC about coming over to see the rack. Depending on what happens there I'll sell in the order as posted here. Does that sound right?
Thanks, Mark | |

Sorry, but those two are now mine!
BTW, I picked up the cams from Mark and he is a nice guy and 100% legit. The gear does look like it was cared for really well, shame that had to happen to his friend.

| The mystery cams were made by ABC probably sometime in the late 80's or early 90's. The smallest one there is a bit smaller than a #2 Metolius, and the blue one (next size up here) is a bit larger than a #4. I don't have either of the larger sizes, but they look like they'd work just fine... | |

Hi Tyler: Sorry but I sold all the TCU's last night to the young woman who was first in line to look at the rack, minus the 3.5 and 4.5. Thanks, for your interest. Mark

Thanks for your interest, Brian. I appreciate your thoughts. It's an ugly disease, especially when it hits you at age 59. I sold the 11 stoppers last night, though. Sorry. Mark
