  • Description

The first East Facing Basalt wall downstream of the Chiflo formation. Across from flow station and cable.

Local lore places Mike Roybal, Doug Bridgers and possibly others climbing here in the past. I found a single Leeper Z pin loosely placed in a crack at head height in the cave area. I lifted it out and then replaced it, but couldn't find it on a return visit. We have seen no signs on the climbs we have done so far. It is entirely possible some of these lines were done by those hardmen back in the day.

    Getting There

Hike down trail at Chiflo and head downstream looking for place to cross. Boulder hop is obvious at rapids mid way to wall. Wading at beach before gauging station is easy at low water. The overhead cable has snapped and recently fallen into the water

Fun climbing and a beautiful spot, but the routes are not as sustained as at red tail and candy store and there was a lot more choss on the routes. Traffic will probably improve things, but the rock quality is just not as good it seemed. Grateful to have another beautiful spot to climb and explore though.
