describe the photo
I know the highest elevation in Florida is most likely Mount Trashmore which is a massive landfill, but I was wondering if there was absolutely anything in Florida to be developed. If Kansas has climbing Florida can too.

you can surely develop your sense of distance from good crags!

Kansas is in the middle of a giant, mountainous continent. Florida, on the other hand, is a big swamp. Your closest climbing is Cuba.

I'm here working for another 2 weeks from CO. It's damn flat here. I need some cold, snow, and ice!

I lived in Orlando for 4 years and Tallahassee for 2, and there (unfortunately) really is no climbing anywhere except for the gym. Sucky. Good luck!

no potential. coral on an incut is about the best you will find for about 8 feet. Some of the springs have a little vertical wall along side them. Nothing worth climbing. Forget going up and go dive down. I recommend taking up freediving and spearfishing. Thats what I did when i lived in FL. If this sounds interesting check out Spearboard.com. If not save up your money/time and travel for climbing. Good luck

Nothing to climb in FL except trees, which is not much fun. The only good thing to say about it is when you have to fly to climb, you can go anywhere you want.
If you are in north FL you can drive to good climbing in 7-9hrs. I consider saving up time and money for escape part of the approach. The key is multiple drivers, sleep in the vehicle on the drive and arrive early AM, climb, drive back. No camping or lodging, just roll-climb-roll.
If I lived in south FL I would certainly check out the Carribbean.
Don't waste time trying to find crumbly limestone.

This painting was taken from engravings made during the 1859 Macomb Expedition, which attempted to locate the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers in the present-day Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. Anyone who has spent time in Indian Creek will recognize the features here.

If you're interested, the survey's official report, as well as more landscape paintings like this one, are available in full on google books.

books.google.com/books?id=674QAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&d>>>

There is TONS of great limestone in Florida. Except that most of it is underground.

I think that this would be the best thing for us to do here on mountainproject:
