Hey all,

I'm headed out to Boulder for about a week in early May, and I'm planning to climb at the Flatirons and Eldo.

I've been looking at all the info on seasonal closures (there is a shit-tonne!), and I know where not to climb, but since their both pretty large places, I was hoping some locals could give me some help figuring out what I can/should climb. Looking for multipitch trad in the 5.10 range and lower, not against single pitch though!

Thanks guys,

Jon

The Beginning of Mr. Clean (5.8) at the Barkeater ...
You might want to specify what kinds of grades you're looking for. There is a good deal that is open in both and they're big areas. jmeizis

5.9 several on the Bastille in ELDO
5.9 - green spur and yellow spur

All in eldo, all open. Check osmp website for boulder open space falcon closures if you have Q's.

Do not leave Eldo without leading Outer Space if you feel solid on low 10. Climb some other stuff in there for a couple days to get a feel for the style then do it, my favorite climb in the Boulder area probably Jeff McLeod

You might want to check out the Maiden. I checked and it looks like it will stay open. Jonathan Awerbuch

If your gonna climb outer space climb werk supp 1st. If you feel good on WS you'll cruise the upper part of OS. So all you have to worry about is the boulder problem. Which isn't that hard and protects better than everyone says. Ryan Kempf
