First pair of climbing shoes.

I am looking to buy my first pair of climbing shoes. At my local gym I currently rent shoes (evolv titans) I have not been climbing long at all but have already noticed I am beginning to need a more aggressive shoe for the boulder problems I have been working on. I get discounts through scarpa, evolv, and tenaya. I have also tried on a friends Tenaya Iati's that he offered to sell me for 50 bucks. the only issue with them that I had was his pair were entirely too small. I understand the concept of downsizing in climbing shoes but that was way too much for me. does anyone have any suggestions for a climbing shoe for beginners that is a little more aggressive than the titans. I would prefer to stick with the brands I get discounts. I appreciate all help.

Don't buy a shoe that is too tight and uncomfortable. Toes should sit flat in the shoe, not curled because they are too small. Some people/salesmen will tell you they need to be tight like that for "performance." You'll be sorry if you get them too small.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
