Crux roof on Freeway...

I guess the packaging is difficult to remove, when you are in a frenzy. My wife chipped a nail. Be careful out there...

Yeah - no climber I know worries about fingernails! Sounding kinda suspicious. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer directly?

Here it comes, blame the device and not the user. Here comes the ban. If Gri Gris are outlawed only sportos will have gri gris.

In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only "orphans" that could be found quickly, were a litter of weaner pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger.
Classic!

So here is how the GriGri2 is packaged.
What is the safest way to remove the plastic plug
in the carabiner hole? Do I drill it out with my Bosch?

I got it out.
I used a 3/8" drill bit and pounded the plastic sleeve out.
No injury occurred.

I'm guessing you don't have kids. If you've unpacked enough toys you can get anything out of it's package.

Jeeze - I tried that and it didn't look to be working. It IS hard to get out. I had to resort to a screwdriver.

This will certainly be a recurring theme as more people get them.

I actually looked in the instructions for the "Petzl Cartoon" showing me how to remove it.

I did too. That plastic plug is for sure the packaging crux. Unscrewing and pulling were not working. Turns out you need to use the "new method"--
Tearing the cardboard off around the plug and pulling the backside of the plug.
