DescriptionThis area includes a steep cave of hard routes, and a beautiful vertical face on the right side. The cave goes by the names "Wave Cave" (in Lander Rock) and "Moss Cave" (in Lander Sport Climbs). Similarly, the wall to the right is referred to as "Fallen Idol" in the former guide and "Face Dancer Wall" in the latter. Whatever the name, this is a nice clean section of wall with a selection of good 5.10 to 5.11a routes, and the neighboring cave has a handful of stout lines climbing out its right side. The shady and cool cave has amazing acoustics which amplify the Popo Agie (river in the canyon). The cave seeps from time to time and is not as clean or as impressive as the mighty Killer Cave. Getting ThereFallen Idol is located just to the left of the Hardware Wall, easily identified by the detached pillar that bounds these two walls. This pillar is 'the Fallen Idol'. This classic line is a recent addition to the cliff and a great tandem line to Face Dancer. The route has a slightly easier crux than Face Dancer, that also comes within the first 3-4 clips and amazing, continuous climbing on pockets and edges....[more] Browse More Classics in WY |
