I just moved to Wellington, and I brought my gear. I know it's the middle of winter, but I'm trying to get the lay of the land and figure out the climbing scene. I've heard Paynes Ford is pretty legit? Who wants to pull on some rock?

I am not there yet, but will be in Christchurch in just over a month. I am leaning 99% to bringing my gear. I'll be there for at least 6 months. Not too close to Wellington I guess, but we are separated by less than 6 degrees I suppose due to MP... If you head down south let me know as I will if I head north. I do mostly sport, but am into bouldering and easier trad.

I'm expecting to get down to the S Island pretty regularly to climb and go tramping, so I'm sure we can get together on the weekends. I've got a trad rack and plenty of sport gear, hopefully I'll know the climbing areas fairly well by the time you arrive! I'm down for easier trad or sport or whatever, it's all good.
