Description

This is a small crag located south of Ginsling in the Zillertal. It was visited by the Petzl Roctrip in 2006 I believe? There are dozens of sport routes on very high quality granite and the grades are well represented from easy slabs to 5.14 test pieces. The crag doesn't look like much from the road, but the climbing is excellent and varied.

The crag consists of several large granite boulders just sitting next to the river. They are quite impressive and rise 150 feet into the sky. This is a very beautiful place to climb, it is easily accessible and you can find sun or shade at any time of day.

Getting There

From Innsbruck drive east on the A12 until you get to the exit for Zillertal (about 50km). Take this exit (highway 169) and head south toward Mayrhofen. From Mayrhofen continue south to the small village of Ginsling (where you can stop and get a book or topo). From Ginsling, continue south for another 4 miles until you see the crag on your left.
