Wade,

Just saw you've been working in the real estate sector in the past. I work as a residential real estate agent in Denver and would be happy to talk with you about the Denver real estate market and job possibilities in brokerage if that's something you're interested in. Feel free to send an email and we can set something up for when you're in town.

Cheers,

David

Thanks for all the good info! I think I'm going to try and hit all these food suggestions so far. I'll check out Padmapper and Housing Helpers as well. It seems like half the stuff on CL is bunk and it's getting pretty frustrating. Boulder seems like a more attractive option to me because of its proximity to the mountains and the fact that it isn't an urban city. Coming out of Philadelphia, I'm over the big city thing. I want a yard again dammit! Boulder also seems to have less of a job market and from what I hear a bit of pretentiousness. It's a fair tradeoff though.

Golden is way better than all those. Not a scene like Boulder, small, close climbing, closer to denver than boulder, no fighting I-25 traffic and 36 traffic from boulder.

Hey Mike, I know next to nothing about Golden but I'd really like to check it out. We'll probably shoot over there on Sunday. Do you have any recommendations on neighborhoods we should check out?

I just want to thank everyone for all the great advice. It's been a big help and we finally got some stuff sorted out. This is the first time I've gotten to sit down and relax in a few days, but it was worth it. We ended up signing a lease with a really great landlord in South Boulder. While the city has it's positive qualities, it's negative ones are also obvious. We're hoping to buy a house next year and Golden will likely be our first choice. My girlfriend signed the contract with her employer so now I just need to find a job! Again, mucho gracias.

PS. chufftard, I got those pellets, you bring the pbr.

Honestly you probably won't even notice the negatives...they get lumped into what's called "normal life". And when you consider the positives and that people dream about vacationing to where you live, the negatives get lumped into what we like to call "Boulder Problems".

"Oh no I had to wait to get a beer at our 10+ breweries, oh no I had to wait in line for a climb at all the amazing spots within 15 minutes of my house". You get the drift. Complaining about the negatives is pretty foolish really. It's pretty tits here...

Scott, thats a great point. Here it's more like "Some shitty driver tried to run me over and I fell off my bike. Then a crackhead spit on me and stole it." This didn't happen to me personally, but it's probably not uncommon. Some one in Boulder said Denver was dirty and I laughed so hard I blew a snot bubble. I guess they've never been to Philly...
