The summit you described looks like it's called "Emerald Point" in Mike Carville's Tahoe guide.
On the USGS topo(graphic) maps, Jake's Peak is a lot further north, the next major summit past Emerald Point.
I was drooling over that summit every time I went up Eagle Creek last summer, can't wait to check it out in person.
