Well, the weather is warm, but likely snow remains up in the canyon. Redfish lake lodge doesn't open until this weekend, so the boat is likely not in the water yet.

You will have to walk.

See you local, Adam.

Went in June 2nd - 4th. The original log crossing is gone so we waded the creek on the way in. Water levels were too high to do this on the hike out but we found a log bridge about 300 yards or so down river. May need more logs added. The snow starts a while after the creek crossing, and things were melting very fast. Mountain boots and ice axe highly recommended. The nice campsite between the two lower lakes was free of snow and very pleasant. The mountaineers was completely dry, but boots and an ice axe are needed for the descent, so heavy backpack. Lots of runoff from the upper slabs underneath the snow pack. Watch for wet slides (saw and heard several during the trip). We actually belayed the traverse to the descent gully because of potential avy danger. The sunrise book was initially wet at the beginning of the trip but was dry by the 4th. All the other routes looked dry as well. A beautiful time to be in the Saws, although I heard it snowed quite a bit in Stanley yesterday.

Heading to Elephant's Perch Tuesday. Any word on recent conditions? Thinking of hitting up the Direct Beckey, also wondering if the descent has melted out. Thanks for any info.

The descent gully was doable crampon and ice axe free in early June so I am sure it is completely snow free by now. Not sure of the creek crossing, but by now fording may be safe and easy.

Just got back from the perch - excellent conditions, gully free of snow, perfect temps!
