Hey folks,

On the AVERAGE year (no such thing in the era of global warming), what are the conditions like in Eldorado Canyon in late October/early November? Specifically, I am interested in doing the Naked Edge, which is south facing i believe...

Thanks in advance!

Fall is a wonderful time to climb in Eldo, especially on S. facing routes.

Fall is the BEST time to climb in Eldo. Usually dry, great temps, beautiful foliage... But don't be surprised if you suddenly find yourself in the middle of a raging snow storm. My very first climb in Eldo (Calypso -- pretty much the same aspect as the Edge) was in October and we started out in shorts and T-shirts in the sun. By the time we got down (it's only two pitches and a walk-off) we found ourselves in -- yep, you guessed it -- a raging snow storm.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
