| Hello all,
I am a Colorado climber who has recently relocated to the Northeast. I have recently moved into an apartment in Manchester, NH with my girlfriend and I'm looking for work (and, of course, climbing partners as well). I attended Dartmouth College, and graduated a few years back. Due to a certain compulsive obsession with all things climbing-related, I have managed to shove aside career ambitions over the last three years to fulfill a dream of working (as a part-time climbing instructor and window washer) and climbing in beautiful Telluride, CO. The dream is over. I've gone and done that, and been damn fortunate to have had the opportunity to do so. Now, as I find myself looking for work in New Hampshire, I find that it's very hard to get to know people and get a job! I have essentially no connections here and I need to get a job.
Knowing full well that I cannot expect to find sympathy from nonclimbers for having lived a day-to-day existence expressly for climbing, I am writing on this forum today to see if any well-established climbers in the area possibly have an employment opportunity or a suggestion for a person in my position. I have ambitions to become a lawyer in a few years, and could work quite well in an administrative type positon, but I have little experience with jobs not involving climbing or manual labor. I am a hard worker and have been extremely loyal and grateful to past employers.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for reading. I profusely apologize for having used a climbing forum for a query of this sort, as I know that most of you come to mountainproject.com to get away from work related activity, and not to sift through prospective employees. I can be contacted at tristan.g.perry@alum.dartmouth.org if you would like to reach me with a suggestion.
If not, well then...want to go climbing sometime? PWay, Rumney, Conway, Cannon...they're some of my favorite places on earth. | |
