Aaron Parlier sending Albatross (v9) on the Diamon...

Description

The east side of Rumbling Bald hosts some of the finest bouldering in the state. A little steeper and more concentrated than the west side, and can be a little tricky to learn your way around. All the same, if you are looking for some great bouldering and the west side just isn't doing it for you, then check this area out. It is every bit as good if not better than the west side.

Getting There

Follow the old jeep trail from the bottom parking lot to the right. The road becomes increasingly steep and eventually levels out with a nice view of Lake Lure and an old campsite (no you cannot camp here). From here you will start to see the boulders. If you walk straight you will end up in the Cereal area, and heading down and to the right will take you towards the slave driver area.

I am new to the area and don't know the name of boulders or problems. I posted pictures with the hope that someone would identif them so I can put the pics in the proper places. Thanks

Evan, it sounds like you need to get the Bald bouldering guidebook. It has photos of many boulders and is pretty easy to use to navigate to most any route in any of the bouldering areas.
