Bouldering along the CCC trail and eastern ramparts.

Getting There

Up the CCC trail. Bouldering is to the left and right along the trail. Most famously, The Little Flatiron, was established by John Gill. This is easily found at the top of a stair section nearly all the way up the CCC trail. The trail veers left here and if you kept going straight you would smack right into it. It's a slabby 15 foot high wall with 2 discontinuous vertical cracks.

Thar she blows!

Fist Fight V5 6C  WI : Devil's Lake : ... : West of CCC trail/Talus
You'll find this monster directly below Brinton's Buttress. Move down through the talus until you come upon a large overhanging boulder with a huge roof fist crack. The Good - it's a giant roof crack. The Bad - it's painful as hell. Tape is highly recommended....[more]   Browse More Classics in WI

Chris, I have lots of pictures. I would prefer a golden ticket to the chocolate factory.

Can this area be split up for better organization?

Perhaps by the way Sven books organizes it, The Monster etc.

You don't have too many boulder problems here yet. How many sub-areas do you need? Two? Three? Pick a number, and then it will be easier to decide where to draw the boundaries?

How about east/west of the CCC trail for starters? The boulders from the Zipper east to Fat Pants including the stuff around the Guillotine seem to be a fairly tight group, and could be made as such. Similarly, I'd put Slab of Doom, Rampart Roof, and other problems in the talus below the cliffline and west of the CCC trail in their own group. I'm not sure what I'd do with stuff like Rail Gun or ObZen that are a little further down, it frankly seems hard to call this East Rampart. Maybe an alternative would be to keep things in the first group under the East Rampart, but split off things in the talus distinctly below the East Rampart into their own area ("East Rampart Talus?").
