One of the features I like and use frequently on the site is the "tick list" feature, which allows me to track what routes I've climbed, and when and with whom I've climbed them.

I think a great addition would be the ability to check various boxes to indicate the style in which the route was climbed. For example:

- Led all pitches
- Followed all pitches
- Swung leads w/ partner
- Top-roped
- Soloed
- Aided
- Onsighted
- Redpointed

...etc.

Thoughts?

Call me old-school (or whatever else floats your boat), but the ticklist feature is part of what makes some of the other sites so lame. The to-do list helps out, because it actually assists in finding people who are interested in the same kinds of routes as you-shit gets done, all's well. The ticklisting leads to the same old chestbeating nonsense that got one of my buddies punched out over some stupid postings on 8a.nu-there was a feature article on this incident in Rock and Ice detailing how a ticklist directly led to someone losing his cool and hunting down a decent individual to rearrange his face. I don't care what anyone else on this site has climbed unless it leads to useful info or photos or anecdotes-a laundry list of minutia seems like encouraging users from rc.com to switch over, and no one wants that.

I'm saying "nay"-the feature's existence is bad enough without pimping it out. Let's spend more time with our families and friends sharing our experiences and less time creating fallacious online resume's that don't help anyone. Sorry if I'm raining on anyone's parade but I believe that bragging should happen personally when under the influence-it's easier to call bullshit or change the subject (again to something more useful) when the campfire's flickering than when the server's bogged down by huge amounts of meaningless text. Anyone else with me?
