A nap in the shade on a ledge was our reward after hiking to the base of Angel Food Wall in direct sunlight on a hot summer day. I don't think it's a good idea to take a nap before climbing; it was hard for me to want to get up, but we did, and managed the climb. Fun times!<br /><br />Taken 8/19/09

Oh crap, we gotta climb the last two pitches in the dark; Better get my headlamp out.<br /><br />My helmet actually used to say "The Devil Made Me Do It" but with the usual Red Rock adventures wear, and tear it now reads "Me Do It" which fit the night perfectly. <br /><br />Taken 8/19/09, and it still feels like summer all right. Climbing Purblind Pillar in Red Rock on a 107 degree day. Hiking in was miserable, but the route was doable in the shade, and at night.<br />

Jonny rapping from Chuckawalla 21 in Mud Springs, Red Rock. It's a longish approach to get to C-21. We were the only ones deep in the canyon that day, which isn't too uncommon in these parts. Fun climb!

FYI:<br /><br />Sandals, and skirt with replanting cholla don't mix. It's best to wear steel toe boots, and jeans. : )<br /><br />Jonny's prized cholla on 9/17/09. It's finally getting a bit cooler in Vegas (96 in the shade) to do some day time gardening. WooHoo! We're ready for the next round! : )

Hmmm... I'm not sure what he's doing in this pic; possibly thirsty after running, and somersaulting down the sand dune on a hot fiery day, or maybe looking for the rare Mojave Fringe-toed Lizard I told him about.
