Directions to Lee Vining Ice.

Hi all! Me and my girlfriend are visiting from Sweden. We are in California now and looking to climb some ice. What are the directions to Lee Vining ice? Is there any ice near lake Tahoe?

Check out the Northern California section. It's got pictures of both Lee Vining and Tahoe ice.

Yeah...the Northern CA/Sierra Eastside section has pictures, but the directions are pretty vague beyond turning west on Hwy 120 from 395 and suggesting to use Mapquest.
Wolfgang...your best bet would be to call Wilson's Eastside Sports (now Eastside Sports) (760) 873-7520 or Kurt Wedberg at Sierra Mountaineering International (760) 872-4929 in Bishop and ask for specific directions.

Some of the best (most consistent) Tahoe ice areas consist of Coldstream Canyon, Eagle Lakes/Emerald Bay, and Kirkwood.
