Matthew Fienup climbs Dig a Pony (5.10d) at Bishop...

Good, well-protected route to the left of Flakes to Fresno that can be top roped from the same chains if you're not up to leading. The first crux involves a couple of solid pinches and small edges for your feet. The final crux is a thin face above the ledge which can be avoided by scrambling around left.

Bolted line to the left of Flakes

4 bolts + a medium piece right off the ground

Beautiful, balancy crux just above the second bolt. Make sure you're on the left side of that bolt.

Great climb, but the flexing crimps and friable flakes detract a bit from the aesthetics of the climb. I thought the crux was the final bolt above the ledge, turns out the guide says that's a 5.11 finish variation. Neat.
