As a midwest climber who can't make it up there the dvd is my best option and I'd be more then willing to buy one.

I would hope Darin would be able to burn up a few copies off his computer just to be ready.....maybe not full quality mass produced, but at least available. 20 bucks or so would be willing price I'd bet from many in need. I'd love to come home from Friday night with a copy if possible...
Forgot to ask, does the theater have their own parking lot nearby, or other public lots from stores, restaurants where we can park late into the night?

hi

There is a parking lot behind the theater, and another across the street and down a block to the west. Also street parking will/can be available in the neighborhood behind the Barrymore. I live just a few blocks away, and there are always spots to be found.

What Jon says ...

I can't help pointing out that there are a couple of nearby churches with good-sized parking lots. Try not to still be there on Sunday morning, please!

Bump-aRama! There should be a bevy of beautiful young women forming an entry way for us at the front door I would presume, the red carpet rolled out and all. We're talking celebrities here!!! Can't wait to see this and the excellent soundtrack that should accompany the film.

Hayley there will be high def digital download at dlfafilm.com after the premieres for sure, and after the dust has settled from the premieres (at the Madison premiere) I'll ask Darin about DVDs. Don't wanna harass him about it right now -- pretty stressful time with the upcoming shows and all.

Fantastic!! I'll definitely download it, but would still love a DVD. Have fun at the show everyone :)

Only 28 more hours until showtime! Love being on the marquis of the theater! I too want a DVD as I can't download movies on my slow internet service or computer. Is this a black tie event,,or are we all wearing our new DLFA film red t-shirts to event?

Awesome turnout,,,nearly 500 in theater! Great program, so much content. I could have listened to you read stories from Steve for another hour, but we lost about 75% of the crowd at 11:30 break for some reason...too bad, they missed the raffle! Look forward to the download being ready soon.

For those who missed the Madison premiere, or who live in MN, here's another chance to check it out. Free coffee and beer! $10 to get in.

Great time. Barrymore is the perfect location for a screening like that. Had lots of fun watching and hearing the stories. Got to see a friend that moved to FL a few years back, and another that moved to Africa earlier this year. One of my coworkers who used to climb had an old climbing partner come in from CA to watch the film. What a fun night. Thanks to Darin and everyone else that made this happen!

And yeah, I don't know why the place cleared out before the Q&A session and raffles. People missed out. The bars will still be there tomorrow.

Special thanks to the DLFA guys for coming, and to the Hoofers for plugging and organizing rides for the carless, as well as Katie, Jill, and Kevin at Boulders Climbing Gym for advertising and selling tickets. Also to Jon Jugenheimer from Black Diamond, Josh Helke from Organic, and Adam Remus from Fontana for door prizes.

way nice to have all those sponsors and free door prizes to give away. Just baffled how the place emptied out 75% after the one break in the action. Where did they all run off to? More bars to visit on a Friday night? Very supportive crowd, lots of interest in the history and events.

I just watched the film, it goes without saying GREAT JOB DARIN! Really made me miss the run-outs and shit-show gear, I will be having drinks in Rich's honor tonight and all other nights for that matter, if anyone ever wants to punt out west shoot me a message sometime, Idy or Jtree almost every weekend.

BTW...there's still some projects at Da Lake, anyone gonna pull down and PUKE?!?!?!!?

Rhoads!

Congratulations to Darin Limvere, and the whole cast of characters ( which probably should be capitalized as well ) involved in the DLFA Film !!! The moments of our past histories can make fine stories / tales to both instruct and entertain. The energy and dynamic qualities that have been a part of Devil's Lake climbing lore for decades occupies a fine place in the wonderful activity of rock climbing in the US. I look forward to viewing the film at some not too distant point,.. ha ha, just the thought of the crew of folks comprising the DLFA brings a smile.... A new season continually blushes forth,... with it's attendant power, beauty,... and jackness,.... embrace this force,.... for it is of our nature. Club Salute !! WhhoooooooooP !

I'm glad the film focused so much on my 'era', the late 70's into early 80's streak of great ascents and projects by Rich and Tommy especially. A fine film, I could have watched a 2 hour version easily with some of Steve's stories read as script over a series of background jackness pics...that would have been awesome!
