Thanks for posting this. It's amazing that it took this long to resolve this case. While the sentence seems light, it was pretty clear that DiPaolo was damaged goods. I sincerely hope Geoff's family can find some closure. I still fondly remember Geoff. he made my brief time in D.C. much richer.
I remember years ago cramponing around blood at the base of the ice in Boulder Canyon. Found out a argument ensued between a soloist and a class instructor over sending down ice, resulting in the instructor planting his axe in the other guys helmet. He wasn't killed but apparently had quite a head wound. Another case of anger management or lack thereof !
