EDIT - LOOKING TO CLIMB SATURDAY 12/20, NOT 12/21 AS ORIGINALLY LISTED

Still a month out, and as with any ice climbing trip it's weather dependent, but looking to start the search for potential partners now. My plan is to arrive late night in Lake Placid that Friday (12/19) and get some guided instruction that SUNDAY (12/21) to get back into the swing of things.

That SATURDAY (12/20) I'd love to just do some unguided climbing anyone's around. TR/Multipitch, I'm happy to do whatever.

By way of background - I've been climbing ice a few years now. Started leading WI3 last year, and can follow/TR pretty much anything that can be found in the ADK. Just getting into mixed so I'm not leading any mixed lines, but I'm happy to TR on some easier stuff if that's your thing.

I have an ice rack and rope. PM if interested.

Sounds good! I know it's still a ways off but I figured better to start looking early.

Want to swing through Buffalo on the way? :-)

Buffalo is a bit out of the way, but I'm happy to meet in Lake Placid!

Obviously a little early to commit but I should be available Sunday the 21st.

I'm located in Elmira N.Y. And very interested in Climbing in the daks this year. I've been living in CO but originally from here. I'm confident alpineer interested in a little touring this year. Would anyone in the adk region have a pair of skis compatible with mountaineering boots? I own snowshoes. Also interested in trips to the whites and would loved to do a big route and or traverse of katahdin. Shoot me an email I've recently acquired a lot of free time. I'm safe and aware of my limits Lead ice rock mixed at intermediate level

I climbed at Lake Placid last year, at a crag opposite the North Face of Pitchoff Mountain. Harlot, and Deadline area I believe? It's an area that's off of a XC ski trail. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well so I was limited to cragging, but I wasn't disapointed.

It's beautiful up there. Lake Placid is an awesome town. On the way towards Keene you can stop at what I believe is Cascade Lake. Saw several groups doing some roadside climbing on what looked like easy stuff to set up on TR with a bit of scrambling.

Yeah - Cascade Pass has some great areas for top roping. Sounds like a few people will be around - anyone ready to commit/start planning?

PM if you'd like to get out.

Was seriously considering making the 5+ hour trip up north but I got a wedding that weekend. Might be a possibility later in the season.

Looks like my plans have changed slightly - looking to climb on Saturday the 20th. Are people still game?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
