Heading up to Danland late morning, looking for a partner just in case Larry or Dan aren't there. If you're in the area and have time head up!

I don't know if anyone is going up to Danland today so I'm gonna change my plans. If anyone is going to be climbing SEKI or Yosemite and has room/patience for a new-ish climber let me know.

I figured I would just add to this thread rather than make a new one-

Visited Danland for the first time this past weekend and it was a paradise of beautiful views and great slab. I actually am a little nervous about posting as glowing a review as I want to for fear that other people will travel to this hidden gem!

Ran into Larry and Dan as well -- was wondering if they were active on here?

Also ran into another couple I recognized from the gym -- I meant to get their contact info since I think we each wound up with some good climbing photos of eachother but I missed them on our way out. If you were there, shoot me a PM please! Most of my climbing photos are selfies and highlight my double chin :-(

Nice!

Dan and Larry aren't much for the internet so I doubt they'll see this, but they love that more people are enjoying their little playground!

You might have run into Paul and Christina. If that sounds familiar send me an email and I can give your their phone and/or email.

Yay for winter climbing at Danland!

Edit: for anyone that missed it, Dan wrote detailed route descriptions so they're on SEKIclimbing.com now along with the topos.

LC, You don't know me, I hope that's not a big deal,
I'm not climbing far or wide for that matter.
But . . .
I've always wondered about the secret wide crack line that you showed off in a Trip report on
A wide fest lead by a Smiling monster hard woman Christina? If I remember correctly it Was "WildTurkeys"(?)

Hi Michael, you mean when Christina F wrote an offwidth trip report on ST and I posted a picture of a secret crack in the comments as an invite to her?

We (she couldn't make it) climbed what we thought was a chimney next to that crack, which turned out to be a gnarly OW seen here:

Since the "chimney" turned out to be an OW, some friends went back a few weeks later and the "OW" next to it turned out to be an amazing crack going from fingers to fists, seen here:

Turns out our scale was just off when we tried to judge everything from a distance.

The info for those routes can be found here:
sekiclimbing.com/north-sent…
Crack variation is the splitter, FML is the OW. All the routes are excellent.

Edit: these are from North Sentinel in Kings Canyon

I'm -awe-struck- and can't think of more to say ?
Hot Dang ! And congrats! Smokin!
( oh now I've given myself away )

Totally Jello!

Kinda how I feel thinking of a war trench attitude it would take to lead wide like those.
The splitter on the other hand has me crying in my coffee. I so missed out !

Instead of going to SEKI. . . .
I Took the wrong boat, so to speak, I Chose to live in Estes Colo. In the 1980s . . .
