Description

Hardly worth note, this is a grouping of rocks glued to the concrete bridge where Chester Creek flows into Lake Superior. Not sure who actually did the work, but it's a fun little diversion and do-able by headlamp.

Room for about 4 ropes and all the routes follow crimpy little lake stones glued to the face.

Getting There

Follow the tunnel under the bridge from the lake shore...
Do not rap in from the rose garden as this is illegal (but great fun!)

Crimpy Lake Stone Suprise 5.9+  MN : Duluth Rock (Duluth) : Crimpy Face Crag
This covers all of the current "routes" in this area. All follow crimpy lake stones with not much variation. A dihedral route is possible, as is mantling on a small ledge and pulling some sick roof moves in the tunnel. All are pretty fun...all can be slimey...but nonetheless, get out there and get on it...someone put a lot of work into this!...[more]   Browse More Classics in MN

There are four sets of rusty chains atop the climbs. A number of experienced climbers have recommended bringing your own equipment for use as top anchors.
