Wanting to climb at Whiteside this upcoming weekend, 2/27. Loads of rain on Wednesday, and possible snow showers on Thursday, but the weekend forecast is sunny in the 50's. For those that know Whiteside well, do you think it will be seeping this weekend after this week's rain? I'm looking at climbing Original Route.

I climbed it a couple of weeks ago (Super Bowl Sunday) after a pretty dry week. Upper pitches (Traditions finish) were very wet. Couple of other wet spots down lower too. Have to think they will be soaked this weekend as much rain as we are getting. Ground is saturated and it will be seeping and running up top for sure.

Check out boulder problem in the sky area. Guaranteed to have three dry routes there. The roof protects that area well. The last pitches on traditions can be done even if soaked. I would hate it the 10c pitch on the OR was wet, but it can be aided.

Sunday would probably be better. You may find some stuff a bit wet. The water table is pretty high right now with all this damn rain and the overnight lows won't help either. It looks sunny and windy between now and the weekend which will definitely help. Hope to be up that way on Sunday myself.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll probably make the trek to Whiteside after some drier weather.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
