Coming to CO in April... What are my options for fun??

Hello everyone. I am new to climbing/mountaineering, and would like some advice on what activities will be best suited to me and a buddy that are coming out in April. We are a couple firefighters from FL that are up for anything. I have a little experience on rock and ice, but not much. We are hoping to do some beginner mountaineering/ice climbing. Any recommendations on places to look? I know there are dangers for the unexperienced, and would most likely hire a guide(or try to hook up with local climbers). I just need a point in the right general direction. Thanks!!!
