I was thinking of doing the Casual Route this coming weekend and wondering what the snow was like up there still. Anyone know? I know it has been a huge snow year. Thanks ahead of time.

There's still lots of snow but nothing that would prevent you from dong the Casual Route. There will be some snow on Table Ledge and Broadway and you might encounter some drips somewhere. It's always nice to have something to chop steps in Mills for pre-dawn approaches to the North Chimney. A rock has always worked for me. Don't need iit for the decent because it will have softened up by them.

It looks like the old webcam with the good pics of the Diamond is down. This is the best one I can find:

Good luck,

Noah's first rope...kinda.

Based on the pics I have seen posted recently (check out www.climbinglife.com) I would say bring an ice axe for the N. Chimney.

Also you may want to consider doing (or bringing gear for) another route as the Casual is one of the wettest routes on the left side of the Diamond.

Pervertical and the Yellow Wall are almost always drier than the Casual Rte.

I was up there yesterday (june 29) and there is still a ton of snow.
We were able to walk across Chasm Lake at 4pm in the afternoon, no problem. The Casual Route is still wet and there is a little snow on some of the ledges on route. North chimney is a mixed route right now (no joke) and you would need crampons to get across Broadway which is a snow-way. The routes on the Red Wall are dry and there were two parties climbing there yesterday just right of the Diamond.

You could probably climb the Casual Route without getting too wet. It would just be alot of inconvenience getting to and descending from the climb.
