Tetons weather - locals?

So, I usually make my trips to the Tetons in August and I've had really good luck with weather this way over the 20-25 days I've spent there the last four years. I've never been up there this early, but was considering going up this weekend from Salt Lake and hitting one route and coming home (something I've done several times before).

Just not sure on the weather for Saturday. Mountainweather.com has a 70% chance of t-storms, with a low chance of lightning. National Weather Service has like 50% chance of T-storms I believe, whereas weather.com has 30% chance for Moose (maybe less relevant than the other two).

In August I'll usually go if there's a 30% chance of T-storms, since that seems to be "average" up there....and I've never had any problems. Would hate to waste the drive, though, to get rained on.

Any opinions from locals who are watching the weather or more familiar with the REAL chance of t-storms?

At this moment the major peaks are obscured, lots of storm cells moving around but no major weather yet today. Last night a big storm came through around 11, and most days since Monday have had storms on a very unpredictable schedule. It's supposed to continue in this way for at least a couple of days.

I'd have a Plan B. Fishing? Drinking?

Another Tetons conditions question:

How is the snow doing in the high country? I've heard that it is a heavy snow year and that the higher peaks are still in wintery conditions. Is anything dry/snow-free? How long might it be until the higher peaks melt out and are climbable without snow gear?

I may be headng up that way in about 10 days, and am wondering what is going to be good for rock climbing. I picked up a heel injury last winter that prevents me from being able to wear a stiff winter/mountain boot, so I need to seek out things that are climbable in approach shoes and rock shoes.

Thanks,
-Jon
