Racked and loaded... name that splitter behind me? Hint, its on Supercrack Buttress

A friend and I are coming to Boulder this weekend for a conference. We'll have about 4-5 hours on Thursday to climb, if the weather cooperates.

Any suggestions for some quick 5.8 to 5.10 pitches in Eldo. We need routes that are easy to find and descend since we'll have a short time frame. And no horror shows please..... :)

Thanks
Andy

Outer Space

I wouldn't call it a horror show, but I wouldn't call it a walk in the park either. It's definitely a good route, though.

Andy,

You probably want to climb in the sun so I'd suggest in order of priority:

Yellow Spur, 4-5 pitches 5.10 or 5.9
C'est La Vie pitch #1, Touch and Go, Tagger pitch #1 and then pitch #2 (5.10c) if you are feeling "strong like bull"........
Touch and Go to Anthill Direct is good fun.

A fun link-up in the sun is
pitch #1, Tagger 5.9 pitch
pitch #2 &3 Hair City 5.9
pitch #4 &5 Blind Faith 5.10a
pitch #6 C'est La Vie 5.9 pitch
pitch #7 Touch and Go 5.9
pitch #8 Temporarily Like Achilles 5.10c

Alternatively you could just hike up to Rincon (20/30 minutes)and do:
pitch 1 & 2 Rincon Wall 5.9+
pitch #3 top rope or lead the 5.10 crack to right of Rincon.
pitch #4 &5 5.10, 5.9 do Over the Hill
pitch #6 Over and Out, 5.8
Rincon comes into the sun around 1:15pm.

These recommendations are just a few of many.........

For a few close together quality routes try the West Ridge! Start with Morning Thunder 9+ and then consider Allosaur 9 and other routes up around the corner like The Unsaid 9 and Chanti 8+ which are all easier than Morning Thunder. All of the climbs should be in the sun for you vs anything on the Bastille. Since it's spring watch for ticks and poison ivy too!
