I really only know you through mountainproject.com, but I wanted to say thanks for giving me life back in my mountain bike goals. With the Falcon Guide Mountain Biking Denver & Boulder, which was the first book I bought when I moved to Colorado, I have found new meaning and strength in my biking skills technically and downhill. Well, maybe your book isn't completely the grail to my life achievements, but since I can reach out to the masses, I wanted to say thanks for my first mountain bike trail guide. I thought I read you were from or lived in Louisville, and that's where I live so we can hang at Henry's tavern anytime and I got the first round. Thanks really Bob for the hard work.

Oh, but ground up is truly the way to go.

Supertopo is more aptly described as a bunch of birds sitting on a ledge. Some birds fly off and do things, returning to a new part of the ledge, squawking their stories of fields of corn far away. Others simply sit and shit in the same place, getting weirder and weirder.

Tim,
Thanks for making me laugh for over 5 minutes. That is one of the funniest things I've read all week.

Messing around in RMNP in winter, climbing 5.7 in rubber snow boots and ski gloves.

Yeah Tim, if you're not part of the "club" they pretty much ignore your posts. A lot of inside jokes that fly right past me. The main time I enjoy it is when there are posts from Jeff Lowe correcting historical perspectives.

I'll hump to give this thread the bump.

I'll see your praise and raise you a couple dozen more. Bob D lived in Taos for just over a year and probably added 100 new routes to the surrounding crags which I am still trying to find and send. Dude has 'tude but he's no prude. Very genuine.

Bob,welcome home. Post up some Panama pics. Did you bag the Quetzal? Hugs to Laurel and the kids.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I like the Supertopo. And since I don't have any history with those guys, it really goes over and around me. I hang with a few of them around here and some over there and that's about it. Ouch is what keeps that place fun, and Werner of course.

Tim
If we are going to discuss other climbing forums, I would
say RC.COM would be the biggest waste of bandwidth I have
encountered almost anywere on the net. This and ST are light
years better IMHO.
