| Our fourth annual ICE NIGHT is coming... Save the evening of November 6 to join in on Ice Night at the Rock Climbing Center in Monument, CO. Cost is $20 and gets you access to gear demos, a slide show, free beer (for those 21+), and entry into the mini-competition. This year representatives from IceHoldz (the company that makes those cool holds you can swing your tools into) will be on hand. They're bringing a couple of their sponsored climbers to compete so sharpen up those tools and start training (one of them set the diving board at last seasons Ouray Ice Fest)! We are looking to have both Black Diamond and Petzl back again with plenty of tools to demo. To be clear, beer will only be consumed after you have had your fill of dry-tooling and have put down the sharp instruments. The mini-comp will consist of three routes...medium, hard, and mutant. We will have a lot more routes up this year for everyone to enjoy even if they don't compete. Hope to see you there! | FLAG |

| Phoenix wrote: I'll be there with crew! allowing fruit boots this year? Just front plates? Unfortunately, we can't do crampons with the way our gym floor is made. Thick foam. You'll want to bring your rock shoes. In years past we set the routes with a "use any feet" rule in place. This year the routes will be set with designated feet. We are going to try to hang a log this year as well, with a route that starts on our boulder wall, transitions to the log, then transitions to our middle pillar. Should be really cool if we can pull it off. | FLAG |

| Jeff F. wrote: What time does the comp start? The slide show is at 6PM sharp correct? Correct...6pm short film presentation and the comp will start up between 6:30 & 7:00. Of the 3 routes the first two (medium & hard) will be qualifiers to compete on the finals route (mutant). Each contender will get two attempts on each of the qualifier routes. Whoever completes both of those will move on to the final route. should be a lot of fun watching the elite peeps tackle the finals route. | FLAG |

| Glad you guys had a good time. I haven't done much event planning or comp setting so it was a new experience for sure. Any feedback you have will help us make it even better for next year. | FLAG |

| First: Those routes were insanely fun to climb and to watch. Most fun I have had in a gym!
Second: As this comp seems to progress to a having a larger pool of strong climbers, there should probably be only one second chance, or even none, on the qualifying routes. This might lessen the chance of me climbing past my bed time.
B: Miked demos covering some mixed technique might be cool for those who are strong but don't dry-tool much.
4: COME ON! get a new gym people!!! Kidding, With the new place in the Springs being built, I see this event become much bigger.
Fifth: This event is turning into the MUST DO event for front range ice and mixed climbers. It's an awesome kick off for the oncoming season. Had a great time, hung with some cool folks, can't wait for next year!
