Description

Ophir contains multiple areas. This is a shell to help organize this.

Note, this layer of organization was submitted to help with the way the database is structured during a restructuring of the database a while back. There's a bit of history in going from a school project to the MP.com of today. Now, you have to have similarly structured objects at the same level of organization, otherwise the restructuring doesn't work well

To be filled in.

So, any one who wants to take on this section (along with any other sections that are similarly not fleshed in) can contact me/us and I/we can reassign it to you to help fill it in! Thanks!

Getting There

Ophir is between Telluride & Ouray.

The one and only Pete Gallager on Orange Peel (I think it's Orange Peel)

Orange Peel 5.10  CO : Telluride/Norwood area : ... : Cracked Canyon
The most popular (along with Chewbacca) climb in Cracked Canyon - and for good reason.Look for an eye-catching hand and finger crack on the left hand side of the canyon a few hundred feet up from the mouth of the canyon. It is just uphill from Tobacco Road and directly across from Chewbacca. Start up steep jugs and crack with rests in between many of the harder moves. At an obvious point about 50 ft. up, the jugs and goo...[more]   Browse More Classics in CO

If people are going to add an entire area to the database I wish they would offer up more info. Seems like some just jump at the chance to add an area so they score MP points.

Rob -- Leo Paik, an MP.com administrator, added Ophir as part of the reorganization of Colorado by geographical area several years ago. This was done to improve the organization of the Colorado route database, not to "score points." I'm sure that Leo would have provided better info if he were more familiar with the Ophir area.

If you have better info for Ophir, please add it as a comment, or contact Leo to have it incorporated into the area description.
