Josh Janes starts down the long walk from the parking towards Big Rock Candy Mountain, and Sunshine Dome can be seen in the distance. As I understand it, this road is closed due to fire danger??? Photo by Tony Bubb, 2004.

I'm pretty sure the rocks in the distance are actually Sunshine Dome (right skyline) and the Couch Potatoes (left), not the Big Rock, which is out of the photo to the right. This picture appears to be on the Corral Creek Road, about at the point where it emerges from from the forest into the old 1972 burn scar. On the FA of Fields of Dreams, this was as far as we could ever get my '73 Pinto, and we would walk to the rock from this point each day. To the best of my knowledge, the road was identified as a flooding hazard during the roads analysis conducted by the FS after the Hayman Burn, and is closed for "safety" concerns.

That is Sunshine Dome. Talk about a long approach.
