DescriptionThe Stripe is Silverton's premier sport climbing venue with around 20 routes in close proximity to one another. It overlooks the Animas River below town. The gneiss cliff is east-facing and gets morning to midday sun. Because of the high elevation of Silverton, this is primarily a summer crag. The wall is divided into a upper and lower tier with 40-90 ft routes from 5.7 to 5.13. Getting ThereFrom Silverton, drive south on US Hwy 550, cross Mineral Creek, and take a left on CR 31. Park before the gate at a turnout. Walk down the road past the mill (private property) and find the faint trail on the right before the mud bog.
