The Stripe. Most of the routes are on the upper ti...

Description

The Stripe is Silverton's premier sport climbing venue with around 20 routes in close proximity to one another. It overlooks the Animas River below town. The gneiss cliff is east-facing and gets morning to midday sun. Because of the high elevation of Silverton, this is primarily a summer crag. The wall is divided into a upper and lower tier with 40-90 ft routes from 5.7 to 5.13.

Getting There

From Silverton, drive south on US Hwy 550, cross Mineral Creek, and take a left on CR 31. Park before the gate at a turnout. Walk down the road past the mill (private property) and find the faint trail on the right before the mud bog.
