DescriptionThis is a town of ~2500 which sits approximately 12 miles east of Grand Junction (on the western slope) along the I-70 corridor. This area may be best known for its excellent climate and soil for growing Colorado grapes for the Colorado wineries. Winters here are mild; however, summers can be enervating. Getting ThereMost folks will drive here via I-70. The town can be accessed via Exit 42 (or 44). Mt Garfield (~5500') is located WNW of Palisade, just north of the interstate. G.70 road which accesses the Mt. Garfield trailhead can be accessed via exit 42 and going south and then west.
