Description

A house-sized, sandstone boulder. There are many traversing options and it is tall enough to get your attention!

The stone is a little brittle, so avoiding small holds is advisable.

Getting There

Approach from the parking lot across the Piedra bridge 16 mile up from Pagosa on the Ice Caves Trail.

The best way to locate the boulder is to look across the river befor crossing the bridge and locate the large boulder part way up the hillside poking out of the trees.

From the parking lot, walk down stream on the trail until you pass through a few aspen trees. Turn uphill and thrash up through the brush 75-100 feet.
