Description
Tree slab is actually just a little slab near a tree. Several problems in the very low V range can be found along with slightly harder variations. Tree slab is a great place to warm down after getting pumped in the "Hole" or a nice shady spot in summer. In addition it is often a little quiter than the Lobby etc.
Getting There
From the Lobby, proceed up the hill along the base of the cliff to the west. After scrambling up a low angle slabby rock, you will find yourself confronted with the slab and its tree.
The Classics
Mountain Project's determination of some of the classic, most popular, highest rated routes for Tree Slab:
Once in the early spring I was piddling around on the tree slab. I heard something and turned around to see two rattlers hanging out on a little boulder just behind me. It was too early in the morning for them to react to me, and they headed for cover in the cockpit. I had often heard of there being snakes in the cockpit, but until then I didn't believe the rumor.
