The West end of Scout Rock is demarcated by a small drainage that heads North up the hillside and South through a culvert under the road to drain into the creek. Head North up the drainage for 200 ft. The rounded slab on the left is Scout Slab. Three bolted lines have been installed so far. The slab faces North and offers a fine spot to climb when you are looking for some shade.
Getting There
Scout Slab sits North of the CO Highway 7 3.2 miles up the SSV Canyon. Parking is scant, but available, at the West end of Scout Rock.
On the far left side of the photo there is another mixed line (2 bolts and trad to chains) - don't know who set it, but the rating is somewhere around 5.5. (1 pitch, 45'). Also, there is a very difficult bolt line just to the left of "Git em Up Scout", it's called "Merit Badge" and is rated 12d per B. Gillett (4 or 5 bolts to Git em Up Scout). . . I tried it, and it may as well have been 5.14+.
