Indoor Walls

Description 

The purpose of this section of MountainProject.com (just a name) is to try to offer useful information within the structure of MP.com for those seeking to maximize their time, money, pleasure, and with minimal extra effort when climbing indoors when in Colorado. With the growth in popularity of rock climbing, indoor walls have blossomed into a commonplace option for climbers, especially in Colorado, for those with limited time, limited access to climbing during daylight hours, those seeking to maximize training per unit time, and those who just can get in time on the rock due to inclement weather. Some walls will be entirely dedicated to climbing, but others may be incorporated into a recreation center setting, which may still be worthwhile for others to know, especially if that means you might get in a few routes along with other workouts/activities or on family outings. With this expansion of climbing walls, certain details in issues specific to individual walls may color your experience. In fact, personally, if I had one of these details the last time indoor climbing with my family, I could have avoided some problems; hence, this section was born.

When organizing this, it seems to be most user-friendly to keep this area organized by itself, rather than buried in the rest of the database based upon geography. Also, since routes change, it will be unlikely that specific routes would be useful here. However, sometimes there are permanent features that might make the notable routes worth submitting; however, likely these will be the exception. At least to start, it seems that action photos are not part of the intent here, so for now please keep these within your personal collections.

It may be useful to try to follow some format. However, as will all things, formats will improve with time. Comments with more information are welcome. As more/better information becomes available, it will be incorporated within the original wall information. Hence, there may be information added to the original contribution.

For the wall owners/management, etc., there is hopefully a win-win situation where having these details out there may help folks to enjoy their time climbing indoors.

Actually, starting this minor project, I discovered some interesting things, like the first gym in Colorado, a gym that has an altitude training chamber, students rates (dang, if I had only known about this 18 years ago), corporate rates, free coffee, a gym that has racquetball courts, gyms that host birthday parties, that you can rent out a wall for your group, introduction to rock package deals and more.

So, this is a work in progress. It's a start. Perfectionists need to check back in a month or so. Let's be constructive about this. Let's make it a win-win!

As of 3/28/6, amazingly, I've heard about 27 more walls that may exist in the state, so if anyone else wants to jump in & add an indoor wall, please do so!
