This is one of the easier routes at Taylor, great for starting out on trad. The route starts on the left side of the base of the Sun Deck. Near the last 25 feet of climbing stay to the left, if you don't you will see a off-width crack that raises the rating to a 5.10c, which is Hurtin' for Certain. There are no anchors at the top, but you will now be on the Sun Deck and can walk down to the left.
Protection
Standard rack-1's and 2's, a few nuts, you can actually place a four near the top.
Tourist Attraction is a fun little route with a little bit of everything. A veritable smorgasboard of techniques. This route is a great beginners climb. Either as an easy to set up top rope or an early, perhaps even 1st, trad lead. Good stances between harder sections gives the climber time to contemplate the future. Excellent pro can be found all over this little gem. After the short right facing corner near the top follow the easy cracks that trend back right and up to the sundeck. While you are there you might as well hang a rope down Hurtin' fer Certain' and give that a go. Or if you are feeling real spunky try Pink Flame n Go. That is the shallow trough and steep face to the right of Hurtin' fer Certain'. What do you got to lose but skin? Enjoy!
