Can that be considered a triple black diamond run? I just learned how to ski for the first time in my life a month ago, and pointing my skis like that at the start of a steep hill on blue runs, (sometimes single black diamond runs when I'm having poor judgment, feeling brave, and/or following my Jonny) at ski resorts makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Seeing some of these cool pics on Mountainproject makes me want to get into the backcountry skiing thing like a lot of you pros from Colorado. I'm getting tired of snowboarders wiping out into me from behind, and people laughing, and yelling at me from the ski lifts when I'm wiping out as I'm trying so hard to ski like a pro.
P.S. Your picture really scares me. I'd never do that.
No heroism here - I'm wrapped tightly around the guardrail at the viewpoint which I was barely able to keep out of the photo. I was too lazy to take the skis off so I was able to slide them underneath the railing. My only fear was that I would drop the camera....
