BETA PHOTO: Looking up the route.

Description

Climb a perfect hand crack for 15' in a flared corner. Continue up with a couple of offwidth/stemming moves to the chimney. Climb the chimney and protect in a crack on the right wall to a roof. Pass the roof (#3 Camalot) to some more easy chimneying and top out to the left on easy terrain.

Location

Far west end of Mighty Mouse Wall. Scramble up and right from start to Elysium to the back side of the detached fin. Chimneying 101 is the first route on the back side. See Beta photo on main page.

Protection

BD singles from #0.5 - #5 with extra #3. Shares anchors with Elysium. Rap 80' to the south.

Excellent climb, especially at the 5.8 difficulty level. I did not place my #5 Camalot...so you should be fine without it... A 2-Bolt anchor instead of rap-slings would help this climb see a lot of traffic.

Ryan-
The reason slings were used rather than bolted anchors is that Elysium, Gehenna and Chimneying 101 summit at the same location. The location of the slings allows for a single top belay and rap for all three climbs without the need for a gear belay or drilling multiple anchors. If the webbing makes you uncomfortable back it up with an additional sling or belay from the 2 bolt anchor at the top of Know Your Enemy ~15ft east of the slung boulder.
