Description

On the Eliminator boulder's SE corner are several slap variations. To the left is the cave crack. Grab a left sidepull above and right of the crack and a right sidepull on the face near the slap problems. Past the left foot in the crack or somewhere's like that and crank up right on the sloping top. Keep cranking and mantel on up. Name reference from Hang book. Certainly height dependent.

Protection

Having a spotter is nice for the climber at the mantel.

I have always called this problem _Beached Whale._ Stay off the holds around the corner and slap those slopers. The top out is the reason for the name.

Beached whale is to the right of this problem. Instead of sit starting on the arete ala beached whale find the two sidepulls - one is just above and right of the cave crack, the other is the distinct edge in the middle of the face to the left of the start of beached whale - you'll be standing at the start of this. On the top out you use one hold on beached whale, but with your right hand instead of your left. Try it - quite different. Much easier for the tall.
